Denver & Rio Grande Western
While the vast majority of this web site covers the eastern half of the U.S., this page will cover the former D&RGW out in Colorado and Utah. The photos contained here are from only two separate visits to the area. The first in May 1979 during a three week cross-country Amtrak train trip. The second was a two week vacation in September of 1989. Fortunately the Rio Grande was a busy railroad and I did mange to get quite a few images. I am not a historian on the road, so I will skip much of the introduction.
